The great Lewis Black—a 1977 graduate of the playwriting program at the Yale School of Drama—has helped produce a wonderful video (below, or here) for the ACLU. It lambastes legislators who are limiting voting opportunities for millions of citizens.
The November elections are just weeks away. Now is a really good time to check that you are properly registered, that you know where your polling place is, and that there will be no surprises awaiting you when you go to vote.
Why make noise about this here at New Haven Theater Jerk? Because theatergoers have a special understanding of freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, the right to voice one’s opinion publicly, and the ignominy of standing in long lines in order to do a popular and important thing.
