Long Wharf Discovers What Its Interns Can Do

Long Wharf is doing its next Discovery Day on November 2. It’s a pay-what-you-can, family-fun event with an enveloping theme that leads to tours of the theater and backstage glimpses of the theatermaking process. Long Wharf’s been holding Discovery Days for six years, and has been sponsoring similar events for decades. The day is largely run and organized by a group of Long Wharf Theatre interns known as “Next Stage residents.” These eight “early career professionals training in specific fields of theater” work in various technical and administrative departments at the Long Wharf, and get to stage their own show later in the season.

The theme for this year’s Discovery Day is “Crack the Case: Earn Your Badge.” Appropriate for a theater at which every actor for the past decade or more seems to have appeared on the TV show Law & Order.

Discovery Day lasts from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 2. For more info, contact the theater at (203) 787-4282 or www.longwharf.org.
