October 10, 2013 Christopher Arnott

Gar is still living his drama, wanting us to feel sorry and take him back.

The "c" word: Criticism

Other Online Arnott Writings

  • Below the Fold This was a blog for reviews and pop-cult commentary, staffed by New Mass Media writers. It seems to have been wiped off the face of this earth.
  • Cliffhanger Daily An ongoing photonovel with pictures by Hugh Mackay and words by me.
  • CTNow I write short theater previews and occasional features for this Hartford Courant arts supplement.
  • Daily Nutmeg I no longer write for this new New Haven culture magazine, but was its “lead writer” for the first 18 months of its existence, filing three articles per week.
  • Engine 28 An audacious “pop-up” site covering a slew of L.A. theater festivals and conferences in June 2011. I reviewed and reported alongside 20 other USC/NEA Institute in Theater and Musical Theater fellows.
  • Engine 31 Some of the Engine 28 gang reunited to cover the heck out of the 2013 Humana Festival of New American Plays at the Actors Theatre of Louisville.
  • Get to the Point! Official site for the monthly storytelling series I used to host at Cafe Nine.
  • Hartford Courant Largest daily paper in Connecticut. In February of 2016 I became the Courant’s full-time theater reporter and critic.
  • Hartford Magazine I do their “Best Bets” column and occasional features.
  • Hoffman Decades I did numerous cover stories, and several inside features, for this biannual magazine put out by a Hartford-based auto dealership.
  • New Haven Advocate, Hartford Advocate and Fairfield County Weekly I worked full-time at the New Haven edition of this Connecticut-wide chain of alt-weeklies for 17 years, and for another five or so years as a freelancer. The chain morphed into a single, arts-themed publication, CTNow, in 2013.
  • New Haven Independent I used to contribute theater reviews and a weekly “arts happenings” column to this venerated hyperlocal New Haven news site.
  • New Haven Living I do a monthly “Best Bets” calendar column, essays on New Haven neighborhoods and arts features for this slick local magazine edited by my old friend Frank Cohen.
  • New Haven Theater Jerk The site for my theater writings and reviews, before I got the Hartford Courant gig
  • Yale Alumni Magazine I am not an alumnus of Yale myself, but have covered their arts scene for eons.
