It gives the melodies an effect that’s somewhat Eastern, somewhat Philip Glass. Many of the tunes open with quick two-note repetitions, and most swiftly insert experimental classical techniques and counterpoints. Keeps you guessing, that’s for sure—it took me several listens before I was able to pay attention to the lyrics.
