He woke up in the hospital about an hour after I’d brought him there. I wouldn’t have still been there if I hadn’t had a doctor friend at the place who’d let me hang out while he made inquiries, and if I hadn’t had to answer a lot of questions from the police and ambulance men who’d helped transport the body.
